About us

OTSIS is a not-for-profit mutual, owned and governed by its members. Membership is exclusively for Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, although we do also welcome T&O SpRs too, with a dedicated Trainees Policy also available. Membership of OTSIS provides you with access to individually tailored professional indemnity insurance via M.I.C. Ltd, with 24/7 expert medico-legal advice from experienced specialised advisers. The insurance policies our members are provided with meet all independent sector hospital requirements and ensure security in retirement.

Seamless transfer from your current provider can be arranged. Our partner insurance broker offers OTSIS scheme members an individual policy of insurance covering the costs and damages arising from clinical negligence claims, GMC and other professional accountability procedures, together with an expert medico-legal advisory service provided by specialist lawyers.
